A designer to my core, light is the medium in which I can most fully express myself and communicate with others. I approach my work from a background in classical dance performance and improvisational movement structures. As a student at Bennington College, I studied dance and architecture and was constantly searching for a way to bridge the two. Light became the link I didn't know was missing from my artistic practice. Through early explorations, I discovered that lighting design was everything I loved about dance and architecture all rolled into one. I think of light as the architecture that houses a performance, a way of building its environment. Though I no longer perform or dance regularly, I relish the opportunity to be an integral player in making dance by manipulating light.
I believe in a thoughtful, collaborative approach to storytelling and world-building, let’s work together!
