Adventure in Solitude is a solo project I developed in collaboration with two designers. A duet between myself and a large skirt crafted from a parachute, 35 feet in diameter. My desire for this work was to merge costume with set, thus making my own body, and therefore movement choices, dependent on the environment I had created; to not only build and exist within my own world, but to be part of it's architecture. Adventure in Solitude premiered at Bennington College as part of my Senior Dance Concert.

This is a wearable paper sculpture I designed for The Pasture, an improvisational score directed by Gwen Welliver at Bennington College in the spring of 2013. Throughout the rehearsal process, we experimented a lot with paper as costume and the limitations that presents to a performer. This "Paper Creature", as it came to be known, is a character I developed and ultimately performed as part of the project. Prior to this experience I hadn't worked with paper sculpture before, but this rehearsal process allowed a lot of freedom of experimentation. Moving forward, I hope to continue exploring the idea of sculpture as costume as set and the ways that can influence the way a dancer approaches movement choices.
Structured Event is a duet comprised of both choreographed material and an improvised score designed by myself in collaboration with the dancers. We used drawings and paintings of Martha Graham as visual prompts, responding to both the physical lines on the page, and the emotional relationship depicted by the figures, as well as various improvisational structures I invented. Structured Event premiered at Bennington College as part of my Senior Dance Concert.
